Identity, Thought and Vision: Discussions with Israeli Jewish, Arab and Druze Artists

(Documentary). Originally produced under Harambee Productions

Identity Thought and Vision: Discussions with Jewish, Arab and Druze Israeli Artists takes audiences on a journey into Israeli landscapes and soulscapes. The project evolved from one question: What is the role of artist in peace-making and community-building?

Identity Thought and Vision invites viewers to explore this question through conversations with 22 Jewish, Arab and Druze fine artists who live and work in Israel. Identity Thought and Vision makes a significant contribution to understanding contemporary Israeli art and culture. The film was shot in 1999 and completed in 2002. There is a project in development to revisit the artists and continue the discussions as a tenth anniversary edition. — Cynthia A Phillips, PhD writer/director
